Healthy Weight, Happy Heart

Helping people to achieve desired success in their lives is my personal path of joy. Whether offering strategies for creating positive and powerful relationships, taking courageous steps to move toward a dream or seeking new solutions when life throws curve balls, I coach people to reach their goals.

As a vital part of personal development, I’ve long focused on embracing healthy lifestyle habits and especially healthy eating. Years ago, as head of the nation’s fresh produce promotion program, my coaching focused on encouraging consumers to enjoy more fruits and vegetables for all their healthful benefits. Then, I branched into other arenas of personal development–building healthy relationships, putting passion . . . more gusto into all areas of life.

weight-loss-scaleThen, as a result of what I witnessed more than five years ago, I awakened to a new reality of how environmental impurities and our nutritionally bankrupt food supply is severely impacting health today–packing on pounds, draining energy to such a degree that people shared with me their gusto was gone. Are You on Course with Your Goals?

Mitch Van Gogh before - Copy (2)Did you turn over a new leaf of intentions for 2009? If so, are you still focused on that same level of desire and commitment to achieve your goals? Are you continuing to take the steps to cross the finish line?

As a life coach I work with people who share their goals with me and then we develop a plan together with milestones to achieve them. It’s a joy to hear when a milestone is reached.

This morning I received a phone call from Mitch Buster, who has been firmly committed to his goal of significant weight loss and to his health. Before I met Mitch, he weighed 325 pounds and was inspired to make real changes in his life. He began whittling away the pounds but plateaued around 260. He became discouraged when he couldn’t release more weight.

Last June, I received a phone call from him and he wanted to keep moving toward his goal of 180. Together we mapped out a plan. Within a few months he dropped 40 pounds, then another 20, and today he hit a milestone of 199! Beyond the weight loss, he has plenty of energy, enthusiasm and desire to be of assistance to others. He tackled his goals with gusto and turned around his health destiny and discovered a new passion of service through the process. Read the rest of this entry »
